MANILA, Philippines- Tiniyak ni Pangulong Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. nitong Huwebes sa publiko na binabantayan ng pamahalaan ang sitwasyon sa Bulkang Taal kasunod ng pagsabog nito noong Miyerkules.
”Well, we… we have SOPs in place, we have standard procedures,” pahayag ni Marcos. ”What we have to do is monitor the situation.”
Sumabog ang Bulkang Taal nitong Miyerkules ng hapon, base sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
Subalit, umiiral pa rin ang Alert Level 1 sa bulkan, dagdag ng state seismologist.
Ang nasabing pagputok ng bulkan ay phreatomagmatic, na isang “very explosive eruption caused by the contact of magma with water.” Nagdulot din ito ng “short black jetted plume followed by a steam-rich plume that rose up to 2,400 meters.”
Sa ilalim ng Alert Level 1, nagbabadya ang “sudden phreatic explosions, volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall, and lethal accumulations or expulsions of volcanic gas” sa Taal Volcano Island.
Ipinagbabawal ang paglapit sa Taal Volcano Island at sa permanent danger zone habang ang bisinidad ng bulkan ay itinuturing na no-fly zone.
Huling sumabog ang Taal Volcano noong Hulyo 2021 at isinailalim sa Alert Level 3. RNT/SA
