MANILA, Philippines- Ipina-deport ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang nasa 35 Indonesian na naaresto dahil sa pagtatrabaho sa isang illegal online gaming hub sa Cebu City.
Sinabi ni BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado na ang mga pina-deport ay siyam na babae, at 26 na kalalakihan at pinasakay sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. Ang pagpapa-deport sa kanila ay bahagi ng isinagawang pagsalakay laban sa online gambling at scamming operation sa Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
Ang pagsalakay na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto sa 100 dayuhan kabilang ang mga Indonesians ay ginawa ng BI sa tulong ng Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC), at Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT).
Sa nasabing pagsalakay, nadiskubre ang daan-daang mga dayuhan na sangkot sa online gaming operations sa isang resort sa Brgy. Agus.
“The arrest and subsequent deportation of these foreign nationals send a strong message that illegal online gambling operations will not be tolerated,” ayon kay Viado. “We remain committed to upholding the President’s directive to ban such activities, and we will continue to work closely with other government agencies to ensure that those involved in illegal operations are brought to justice.”
