MANILA, Philippines- Arestado ang co-accused nina dating presidential spokesperson Harry Roque at Cassandra Ong sa qualified trafficking in persons case sa Mabalacat City, Pampanga, base sa Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
Sinabi ng CIDG nitong Linggo na noong May 22, naaresto ang akusadong si alyas “Marlon” sa Barangay Tabun sa isang entrapment operation.
Si Marlon ang dating operation officer ng security agency na nagsasagawa ng operasyon kasabay ng nagaganap na qualified trafficking in persons sa Lucky South 99 Outsourcing Inc., isang Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) sa Porac.
Inihayag din ng CIDG na siya ay subject din ng isa pang arrest warrant para sa 10 counts ng qualified trafficking in persons na inisyu ng Regional Trial Court Branch 118, Angeles City, Pampanga na walang inirekomendang piyansa.
“This underscores our unrelenting effort in pursuing and putting behind bars wanted persons and fugitives with end goal of helping the victims attain the justice they deserved. This is the 1st of the 51,” pahayag ni CIDG chief Police Major General Nicolas Torre III.
“I urge the other 50 co-accused to surrender yourselves to the CIDG and authorities because the Tracker Teams are pursuing you 24/7 and will catch you anytime soon,” dagdag niya.
Si Roque at iba pa ay subject ng arrest warrants para sa qualified trafficking in persons kaugnay ng mga ilegal na aktibidad sa POGO hub Lucky South 99.
Ang arrest warrants ay inisyu ng Regional Trial Court Branch 118, Angeles City, Pampanga.
Itinanggi ni Roque ang akusasyon at iginiit na hindi siya kailan man naging legal counsel ng anumang illegal POGO o counsel ng Lucky South 99. Sinamahan lamang umano niya si Ong sa isang meeting kung saan akala umano niya ay biktima ito ng estafa.
Kasalukuyang humihirit ang dating presidential spokesperson ng asylum sa the Netherlands. RNT/SA
