PRESIDENTIAL Adviser on Poverty Alleviation Larry’ Gadon has laughed off Senator Imee Marcos’ call on Malacañang to shed light on the circumstances around the death by cocaine overdose of Paolo Tantoco, the heir of the Rustan’s retail empire, including any involvement of first lady Liza-Araneta Marcos.

Known to be a long-time ‘Marcos loyalist,’ Gadon told Good Riddance that it’s illogical for Malacañang to even submit a report on the incident surrounding Tantoco’s death.

“Besides, the first lady wasn’t his (Tantoco) nanny, nor security guard who would secure him or even others around him,” the presidential anti-poverty czar said.

“It’s the job of the police in Los Angeles, USA,” he added.

He insisted that the Philippines could never conduct an investigation regarding the incident.

“No way that the LA police will allow it since it was a domestic crime.”

He then advised the older sister of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to better train her sight on the cases of cockfighting enthusiasts (‘sabungeros’), which were even connected to the bloody drug war under the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

The LA County Medical Examiner in July confirmed that Tantoco, 44, the administrator of the department store chain of Rustan’s, died from cocaine use.

The senator had said that the Palace should issue a comprehensive report on the matter “given the gravity of these allegations and the matter’s undeniable public interest.”

Navotas and Okada Foundation ink P130-M medical donation deal

Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco said Navoteños could look forward to more modern and quality healthcare services following the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the city government and Okada Foundation, Inc. (OFI) for the donation of P130 million worth of medical equipment to Navotas City Hospital (NCH).

“This donation from Okada Foundation will allow us to fast-track projects that enhance public healthcare through modern medical technology,” he said.

The MOA was signed by Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez, representing Mayor John Rey Tiangco, and Okada Foundation President James Lorenzana.

Tiangco and Mitsukazu Nakata, OFI Trustee, served as witnesses to the signing ceremony.

He also acknowledged his wife, Michelle Tiangco, for initiating discussions with the OFI that led to the donation.
