MANILA, Philippines – SINABI ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na nakikita nito ang mas malakas na “defense relations’ sa French counterparts nito sa mga darating na taon.
Ito ang binigyang diin sa isang pulong sa pagitan nina AFP chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. at Brig. Gen. Patrick Vaglio, Head of Division ng Joint Headquarters International Staff of the French Armed Forces, sa ginawang courtesy visit ng huli sa Camp Aguinaldo, araw ng Martes.
“[Vaglio’s] visit forms part of the ongoing Philippines-France Joint Defense Cooperation Committee initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral military relations and enhancing defense cooperation between the two nations,” ang nakasaad sa kalatas ng AFP.
Sinabi pa ng AFP na pinag-usapan ng dalawang military officials ang larangan ng mutual interest at ginalugad ang mga oportunidad para lumalim ang kolaborasyon sa usapin ng tanggulan at seguridad.
“The courtesy visit underscores the commitment of both armed forces to maintaining a strong partnership and promoting regional peace and stability,” ang sinabi pa ng AFP.
Araw ng Martes nang mag-courtesy call si Vaglio kay Philippine Air Force (PAF) vice commander Maj. Gen. Aristotle Gonzalez sa PAF headquarters sa Villamor Airbase, Pasay City.
“The visit highlighted discussions on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring potential avenues for future cooperation between the PAF and the French Armed Forces,” ang sinabi ng PAF sa hiwalay na kalatas.
