MANILA, Philippines – “The same recycled accusations. Walang bago, wala ring katotohanan.”
Ito ang reaksyon ni dating House Speaker at Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez sa naging privilege speech ni Sen Chiz Escudero sa Senado kung tinukoy ang una na syang nasa likod ng paglimas sa kaban ng bayan.
Sa isang statement sinabi ni Romualdez na ang speech ni Escudero ay hindi exposé kundi isang DDS (Die hard Duterte Supporter) script.
“The same recycled accusations we have long seen on troll pages and social media posts,” giit ni Romualdez.
Ayon kay Romualdez, sa halip na sagutin ni Escudero ang mga kuwestiyon laban sa kanya ay nanisi ito ng iba.
“Instead of answering the serious questions he himself must face, Sen. Escudero chose to deflect. He did not deny the allegations against him. He did not explain his own role in flood-control kickbacks. Imbes na magpaliwanag, nanisi siya,” giit pa ni Romualdez.
“Malinaw naman ang katotohanan: ang talumpati ni Sen. Escudero ay hindi tungkol sa pananagutan, kundi para isulong ang kanyang personal na ambisyon,” dagdag pa nito.
Sinabi pa nito na pansariling interes at plano sa pulitika ang ginawa ni Escudero sa kanyang privilege speech.
“It was a performance designed to profess loyalty and service to Vice President Sara Duterte, and to position himself as her ally for 2028. Ang tunay na pinagsisilbihan ay hindi ang katotohanan, kundi ang sariling interes at plano sa politika,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.
Nanindigan si Romualdez na makikipagtulungan ito sa isang impartial investigation.
