MANILA, Philippines – Kinumpirma ng tanggapan ni Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez na natanggap nito ang imbitasyon mula sa Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) at handa itong dumalo sa gagawing pagdinig.
“Rep. Romualdez is prepared to appear before the Commission. Rep. Romualdez welcomes the opportunity to cooperate with the Commission and fully supports its objective of promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance,” nakasaad sa statement na ipinalabas ng tanggapan ni Romualdez.
Sa isang pahinang imbitasyon ng ICI kay Romualdez na may petsang October 8, pinahaharap si Romualdez sa October 14, 2025, Martes, alas-10:00 ng umaga.
Ang imbitasyon ng ICI ay upang mabigyang-linaw ang mga usapin ukol sa flood control projects at ipinadala rin kay Romualdez ang mga dokumentong maaaring makatulong sa ginagawang imbestigasyon.
“…to discuss and confer with the Commission under oath regarding your familiarity and personal knowledge as Speaker of the House relative to the National Budget insertions as well as the DPWH flood control projects, which is the subject matter under investigation,” nakasaad sa imbitasyon.
Matatandaan na una nang sinabi ni Romualdez na bumaba ito sa puwesto bilang House Speaker, hindi upang iwasan ang imbestigasyon, bagkus ay upang matutukan nito ang isyung handa niyang harapin. Gail Mendoza
