MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ng Malakanyang na hindi na kailangan pang isama ang political opposition para maging bahagi ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), sa pagsasabing ang mga miyembro nito ay independent na.
Ngayong linggo kasi ay sinabi ni Senador Allan Peter Cayetano na ang ICI ay dapat magkaroon ng mga miyembro mula sa political opposition at sinabi rin na ang mga religious leader ay dapat na maging bahagi nito.
Sa panayam, sinabi ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin na ang mga miyembro ng komisyon na inaatasang imbestigahan ang flood control projects sa nakalipas na 10 taon ay non-partisan na.
“Halos lahat ng tatlo opposition yung mga yun. Independent sila, they were chosen because of that quality of independence,” ani Bersamin.
“That is the presidential choice within the framework ng EO, independent, we chose the people na – we believe are independent from anyone including the executive,” dagdag pa niya.
“You cannot put there na kailangan ng opposition, ibig sabihin, kung hindi opposition wala nang objectivity? Hindi naman maganda yun.”
Bagamat sang-ayon ang Executive Secretary sa panukala ni Cayetano, sinabi niya na “we may see things differently.”
“I don’t think it is necessary to brand one of the member or two of the members as coming from the opposition. They are really independent, hindi namin kayang impluwensyahan ang mga yan,” ani Bersamin.
