MANILA, Philippines – Nakiramay ang Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng Embahada sa Bangkok, sa Kingdom of Thailand sa pagluluksa sa pagpanaw ni Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, nitong Sabado, Oktubre 25.
Si Queen Mother Sirikit ay 93 na nakaranas ng stroke noong 2012 at hindi na nagpakita sa publiko mula noon.
“On behalf of the Filipino community in Thailand, the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Thailand extends its deepest condolences to the Royal Family, and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother,” saad sa pahayag ng pamahalaan ng Pilipinas.
“Her Majesty’s condition worsened until Friday and she passed away at 9:21pm … at Chulalongkorn Hospital at age 93,” ayon naman sa pahayag ng Thailand Royal Palace.
Ayon sa ulat ng Bangkok Post, si Queen Mother Sirikit ay nakaranas ng bloodstream infection noong Oktubre 17 at “her condition gradually deteriorated.”
Ilalagak ang katawan nito sa Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall sa Grand Palace sa Bangkok.
Inilarawan ng Philippine embassy ang Thai royalty bilang taong nag-iwan ng “indelible impact” sa Thailand sa pagsusulong nito sa rural development at livelihood generation.
“Her Majesty The Queen Mother will be remembered, with profound respect and admiration, for her unwavering devotion to the Thai people.”
“Her Majesty’s legacy of lifelong service and dedication to the Kingdom of Thailand will endure in the hearts of the Thai people and continue to inspire generations to come.”
Idineklara ang isang taong pagluluksa para sa mga miyembro ng royal family at household.
Kinansela naman ni Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul ang biyahe nito patungong Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia para sana sa 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit.
“He told reporters he would travel to Malaysia to sign a ceasefire agreement with Cambodia on Sunday but return to Thailand afterwards,” iniulat ng Reuters. RNT/JGC
