MANILA, Philippines – Pinarangalan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines nitong Miyekrules, Nobyembre 5 ang mga tauhan nitong nasawi matapos na bumagsak ang helicopter na sinasakyan ng mga ito para sana umasiste sa mga biktima ng bagyo sa northern Mindanao.
Bumagsak ang Super Huey helicopter na patungo sana sa coastal city ng Butuan “in support of relief operations” na may kaugnayan sa bagyong Tino.
Kalaunan ay narekober ang bangkay ng anim katao na sakay ng helicopter.
Ayon kay AFP Public Affairs Office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad, ang dalawang piloto at apat na crew member ng helicopter ay nagpakita ng “the highest ideals of service beyond self.”
“We honor the dedication, skill, and courage of our airmen, whose sacrifice reminds us of the profound risks faced by those who serve even in missions of compassion and relief for our fellow Filipinos,” saad sa pahayag ni Trinidad.
Nakiramay naman ang AFP sa pamilya ng mga tauhan ng Philippine Air Force.
“We share in your grief and extend our unwavering support during this most difficult time,” ani Trinidad.
“The AFP remains steadfast in supporting the ongoing efforts and in standing beside the families of our personnel, as we collectively pay tribute to their heroism and selfless service to the nation,” dagdag pa niya. RNT/JGC
