MANILA, Philippines – Binawi ng Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP), isang attached agency ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), ang mga kaso at inalis ang mga parusa laban sa mga kontratista na sinasabing sangkot sa mga maanomalyang flood control projects.
Sinabi ni Atty. Regino Mallari Jr., alternate chairperson at supervising head ng CIAP, kay Engr. Sergie Retome, Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board Acting Executive Director, na binawi na nito ang mga kaso dahil ang PCAB “had already initiated investigations and undertaken measures against the same contractors.”
“[B]y virtue of the authority vested … by the Secretary, the formal charges filed by the FFOMT (Fact-Finding and Oversight Management Team) are hereby withdrawn, effective immediately,” nakasaad sa sulat.
Ang PCAB ay mayroon nang patuloy na pagsisiyasat na sumasaklaw sa mga sumusunod na kontratista:

“All preliminary orders and/or preventive measure orders issued … are likewise revoked,” saad ni Mallari sa sulat.
Kasama sa mga naturang aksyon ang “suspension from engaging in construction business, confiscation or seizure of the paraphernalia, machines, vehicles… padlocking of the business establishment, warehouse, building, shop, or any other structure which was used in the commission of the offense,” saad nito.
Kasama rin ang “monitoring ingress and egress from the country,” saad pa nito. RNT/MND
