MANILA, Philippines – Ayon sa Bureau of Immigration (BI), 17 Taiwanese na wanted sa kanilang bansa dahil sa malalaking online scam ang na-deport noong Enero 21.
Nahuli sila noong Mayo ng nakaraang taon sa isang subdivision sa Cebu City ng NBI at mga intelligence forces.
Sinabi ni BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado na ang mga deportado ay idineklarang “undesirable aliens” at naka-blacklist na sa Pilipinas.
“This decisive action reflects President Marcos’ clear policy: the Philippines will not tolerate foreign criminals who exploit our openness, abuse our laws, and prey on innocent people,” aniya.
“We are closing the doors to scammers, syndicates, and fugitives who believe they can hide behind tourist visas,” dagdag niya.
Ipinahayag din niya na ang mga Taiwanese ay nagpapatakbo ng online finance scam sa Cebu City.
“Investigators caught the individuals in flagrante… Digital forensic examination confirmed the presence of romance and investment scam scripts, messaging platforms, and other tools used to deceive victims,” saad ni Viado. RNT/MND
