MANILA, Philippines – Absent pa rin si Senador Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa sa sesyon ng Senado ngayong Lunes, Enero 26 matapos ang isang buwang legislative break para sa holiday season.
Ayon kay Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, wala pa siyang naririnig na kahit anong impormasyon galing kay Dela Rosa.
“Wala pa. I have not heard any information from Senator Bato,” ani Sotto.
“I was even wondering how he was able to sign the minority opinion. I think that’s how we should describe it—a minority opinion. It’s not a report, because a report has to come from the main committee itself,” dagdag pa niya.
Ang tinutukoy niya ay ang minority report na inilabas noong nakaraang linggo nina Senador Imee Marcos at Rodante Marcoleta.
Ang dokumento na pirmado ng anim sa siyam na miyembro ng minority bloc kasama si Dela Rosa, ay naglatag ng mga finding at obserbasyon batay sa unang anim na pagdinig ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee sa mga umano’y anomalya sa flood control projects.
Hindi dumalo si Dela Rosa ng anumang sesyon ng Senado mula Nobyembre 11.
Ang kanyang pag-absent ay kasunod ng alegasyon ni Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla na nag-isyu ang International Criminal Court (ICC) ng warrant of arrest laban sa kanya kaugnay sa madugong war on drugs ng Duterte administration.
Noong Miyerkules sa ika-64 kaarawan ni Dela Rosa, sinabi nito na siya ay “waiting for a true seeking for justice to emerge and take over.”
“If there are indeed cases against me, I will wait for a time and certainty when I can face these cases as a Filipino, before Filipinos. If I were to allow myself to be arrested and tried by foreign people and courts, it would be as if I disregarded the struggle of our heroes and soldiers for our independence,” ayon pa sa senador.
