MANILA, Philippines – Ipinasara ng mga awtoridad ang umano’y illegal mining operation sa Bukidnon.
Kasabay nito ay naaresto ang isang indibidwal, ayon sa Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) nitong Martes, Pebrero 3.
Ang illegal mining site ay matatagpuan sa Purok 9, Barangay Old Kibawe, Kibawe, Bukidnon, na nilusob ng mga awtoridad sa pamamagitan ng search warrant na inisyu ng Cagayan de Oro City Regional Trial Court Branch 18.
“Upon arrival at the mining site, the authorities found extensive evidence of deep underground excavation, deliberately concealed through a disguised entry point intended to hide the true extent and nature of the operations from regulatory enforcement and local government oversight,” pahayag ng PAOCC.
“In addition, the team also observed that the mining operators maliciously installed a plastic sheeting along a nearby creek to divert water flow away from the excavation area, a deliberate alteration of the natural watercourse,” dagdag pa.
Sa operasyon, inaresto ng mga awtoridad ang indibidwal na naroon sa lugar na natukoy bilang isa sa mga operator ng mining site.
“When asked about the necessary permits, he was unable to provide any valid documentation,” ayon sa PAOCC.
Nakumpiska ng mga awtoridad ang isang jack hammer na nagkakahalaga ng P30,000 at blower na nagkakahalaga ng P8,000 na itinurn-over na sa Misamis Oriental Maritime Police Station para sa tamang disposisyon.
Ang naaresto naman ay nasa kustodiya ng Kibawe municipal police station, at nahaharap sa reklamong paglabag sa Section 48 ng Republic Act No. 10066 o the National Cultural Heritage Act. RNT/JGC
