MANILA, Philippines – Nilinaw ng negosyanteng si Jonathan Payawal at business partner nitong si Carlito Macadangdang na wala silang kaugnayan sa umano’y flood control scandal at handang harapin ang mga akusasyon laban sa kanila.
Sa pahayag sa social media, sinabi ni So na ang mga alegasyon ay walang basehan at hindi sumasalamin sa kanilang negosyo o adbokasiya.
“Let us be clear: we have no involvement in any so-called ‘ghost’ flood control claims. These accusations do not reflect our business, our mission, or the lives we have changed together,” aniya.
“While we respect the authorities and the process, we also believe every Filipino deserves fairness, due process, and the chance to be heard,” dagdag pa nito.
Kamakailan ay sinabi ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na iniimbestigahan nito si So at Macadangdang sa umano’y kaugnayan nila sa kontrobersiya sa flood control kasunod ng pagkakadawit ng Topnotch Catalyst Builders, isa sa mga contractor na nahaharap sa reklamo dahil sa proyekto.
Ayon kay Prosecutor General Richard Fadullon, si So ay hindi contractor ngunit posible umanong isang project proponent.
Ani So, napakasakit na makita ang kanilang pangalan na nadadawit sa kontrobersiya matapos ang 20 taon nang inilarawan niyang “honest work.”
“You know how this started—small, with sacrifice, long days, and faith. What we have today was not handed to us. It was earned, step by step, through real effort and real service,” sinabi pa niya.
Idinagdag ni So na naniniwala siyang mananaig ang katotohanan at handa siya at ang partner niyang sumagot sa mga alegasyon sa tamang forum.
