“The LEDAC agreed to add four more measures to the agenda, bringing the total to 52. These are bills that respond to urgent and real concerns of the public,” pahayag ni Marcos sa naging resulta ng LEDAC meeting sa Malacanang kung saan kasama nyang dumalo sina House Speaker Faustino Dy , Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan at House Committee on Appropriations Chairperson Mika Suansing.

“This is not just a policy tweak—this is a pro-people measure that supports jobs, tourism, and family travel. The data and public sentiment are clear. The travel tax now works against our economic goals.” paliwanag ni Marcos na syang pangunahing may akda ng panukala.

Ang sinisingil na travel tax ay  ₱2,700 sa first-class habang ₱1,620 sa economy-class passengers.

“The cost weighs heavily on families, diverting money that could otherwise go to basic household needs or be spent within the local economy.Removing it sends a clear signal that the government is serious about mobility, recovery, and competitiveness,”  ani Marcos.

“With its inclusion in the LEDAC agenda, we can move this forward in a more focused and coordinated way,” ani Marcos.

Gail Mendoza
