MANILA, Philippines – Hindi maaapektuhan ang pagtestigo ni Ramil Madriaga sa impeachment proceeding laban kay Vice President Sara kahit may kinahaharap itong perjury case.
Ito ang pahayag ni House Committee on Justice Chairperson Gerville Luistro kasabay ng paglilinaw na ang kinahaharap na kaso sa korte ni Madriaga ay hiwalay sa impeachment.
“Ibang forum ‘yon, where the case of perjury was filed by the Vice President against Ramil Madriaga. This one is separate and distinct from the case that was filed by the Vice President,” paliwanag ni Luistro.
“Regardless of the filing of the perjury case, the Justice Committee will simply proceed with its proceedings and will receive the testimony of Ramil Madriaga the moment he is presented by the complainant,” dagdag pa niya.
Ang testimonya ni Madriaga ay isa sa tinuturing na “crucial” sa impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte.
Si Madriaga ay self-confessed bagman ni Duterte. Sa kanyang sworn statement, inakusahan nito si Duterte na tumanggap ng campaign funds mula sa mga drug lord at Philippine offshore gaming operators.
Inamin din ng dating aide ni Duterte na siya ang nagde-deliver ng malaking halaga ng pera para sa iba’t ibang tao sa utos ng Pangalawang Pangulo.
Si Madriaga ay kasalukuyang nakapiit sa Camp Bagong Diwa sa Taguig dahil sa pagkakasangkot sa kidnapping case at nagpahayag ito ng intensyon na dumalo sa impeachment proceeding na isinasagawa sa Kamara. Gail Mendoza
