MANILA, Philippines – Itinanggi ni House Committee on Justice Chairperson at Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro na may pagkakaiba sa paghawak ng komite sa impeachment complaint ni Vice President Sara Duterte at sa naging impeachment kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos.
Depensa ni Luistro, walang “double standard” sa kanilang paghawak ng impeachment case. Ayon sa mambabatas, magkaiba ang resulta ng impeachment dahil sa naging reklamo kay Marcos ay walang personal knowledge ang mga complainant sa inihaing reklamo; karamihan dito ay base lamang sa hearsay. Samantala, sa kaso ni Duterte ay mayroong personal participation.
“Differing outcomes in the two cases were based on the presence or absence of personal participation, a key element in establishing liability. That is necessary for us to be able to establish the factual nexus, ‘yung connection between the offense and the ground which is present doon sa impeachment complaint against the Vice President,” paliwanag ni Luistro.
