MANILA, Philippines – Inaasahang tataas ang transmission charges na makikita sa mga singil sa kuryente ngayong Abril 2026, ayon sa National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP).
Sa inilabas na advisory nitong Miyerkules, sinabi ng NGCP na ang overall average transmission rate para sa March billing period, na sisingilin ng distribution utilities at electric cooperatives ngayong Abril, ay tumaas ng 4.26% sa P1.7526 kada kilowatt-hour mula sa P1.6810 kada kWh noong Pebrero.
Ayon sa NGCP, pangunahing dahilan ng pagtaas ang ancillary service (AS) charge, o ang pass-through costs para sa kuryenteng ibinibigay ng mga power generator na nagsisilbing AS providers kapag may supply-demand imbalance. Umakyat ito sa P0.8516 kada kWh mula sa P0.8275 kada kWh noong nakaraang buwan.
Nilinaw ng grid operator na wala itong kinikita mula sa AS charges at hindi ito nakikinabang sa anumang pagbabago sa presyo ng AS, dahil direktang ibinabayad ang mga ito sa generation companies na may bilateral contracts sa NGCP at sa Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP) para sa AS na kinukuha mula sa Reserve Market.
Samantala, tumaas din ang transmission wheeling rate ng NGCP, o ang bayad para sa paghahatid ng kuryente sa pamamagitan ng transmission grid, sa P0.7022 kada kWh mula sa P0.6677 kada kWh noong nakaraang buwan.
“The increase in effective transmission wheeling rates has no impact on NGCP’s revenue, as the company’s allowable revenue is capped by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC),” pahayag ng grid operator.
Inulit ng NGCP na ang malaking bahagi ng kabuuang transmission rate ay mula pa rin sa ancillary service charges.
“As the system operator, NGCP’s priority is to ensure the grid remains resilient during supply-demand imbalances. NGCP does not profit from AS charges, as these are remitted directly to the providers who help us maintain the continuous flow of electricity across the country,” anang NGCP. Santi Celario
