MANILA, Philippines – Naharang ng mga awtoridad ang 43 kilo ng hinihinalang shabu na nagkakahalaga ng P292 milyon sa operasyon sa Manila International Container Port (MICP) sa Tondo, Manila nitong Lunes ng hapon, Mayo 25.
Sa pahayag ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), sinabi nito na isinagawa ang interdiction operation bandang 3:40 ng hapon ng PDEA Regional Office – National Capital Region (RO-NCR), International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Service (ICFAS), at Legal and Prosecution Service (LPS), sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa Bureau of Customs (BOC) Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) at Customs Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force (CAIDTF).
Narekober ng mga awtorida ang 129 rectangular packs na naglalaman ng 43 kilo ng shabu na nagkakahalaga ng P292.4 million.
Nagpapatuloy ang imbestigasyon upang malaman ang pinagmulan ng nasamsam na kargamento, kung sino ang tatanggap nito, at posibleng kaugnayan sa local at international drug trafficking networks.
“This successful interdiction highlights the unwavering commitment of our law enforcement agencies to protect the country’s borders from the entry of illegal drugs,” sinabi ni PDEA director general and undersecretary Isagani Nerez.
“Through strengthened inter-agency cooperation and intensified intelligence operations, we will continue to pursue and dismantle drug trafficking syndicates that threaten the safety and welfare of our communities.” dagdag pa niya.
Isinasagawa na ang case build-up operations at profiling activities para sa nakatakdang pagsasampa ng reklamo laban sa mga indibidwal na nasa likod ng smuggling ng iligal na droga sa mga border ng bansa. RNT/JGC
