MANILA, Philippines – Walang sensitibong impormasyon ang nakompromiso o nakuha sa na-hack na website ng Senado, ayon sa Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT).
“We would like to inform the public that the Senate website was recently subjected to an unauthorized modification, commonly referred to as a website defacement,” sinabi ng Senate electronic data processing and management information system bureau (EDP-MIS) sa isang pahayag.
Sa initial assessment ng EDP-MIS ay nakitang “no indication that any confidential or sensitive information has been compromised.”
“The website primarily contains publicly available documents and informational materials intended for public access,” dagdag pa.
Sa hiwalay na pahayag, sinabi ng DICT na isinagawa ang initial assessment kasunod ng tangkang pagsira sa website ng Senado.
“It indicates that the incident was limited to the defacement of the website’s public-facing pages,” ayon sa kagawaran.
“There is, at this time, no indication that sensitive or confidential data was compromised. The DICT emphasizes, however, that a thorough technical investigation is ongoing, and findings will be validated before any conclusions are drawn,” dagdag pa.
Inako naman ng Filipino hacktivist group na nagpakilalang “Nullsec Philippines” ang defacement at sinabing “transparency is not optional [and] accountability is not negotiable.”
Nakipag-ugnayan na ang National Computer Emergency Response Team ng DICT sa Senate Electronic Data Processing Management Information System upang pigilan ang insidente at maibalik ang integridad ng website.
“As a precautionary measure, the affected website has been placed under maintenance while security validation and restoration efforts are underway,” ayon sa ahensya.
Nagsasagawa na rin ng forensic analysis ang DICT, Senado, Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center at iba pang law enforcement agencies upang matukoy ang “threat actors.”
Maaaring maharap sa reklamong paglabag sa Republic Act No. 10175 o Cybercrime Prevention Act ang mga nasa likod nito. RNT/JGC
