CEBU, Philippines – Nagbabala ang Visayan Electric na posibleng magkaroon ng rotational brownouts sa kanilang franchise areas mula 4 p.m. hanggang 8 p.m. ngayong araw kung mananatiling hindi stable ang suplay ng kuryente.
Ayon sa inilabas nilang advisory, maaaring ipatupad ang tig-iisang oras na brownout kung mauuwi sa red alert status ang Visayas Grid.
“As of this time, the Visayas Grid remains under Yellow Alert Status, which means power supply is currently sufficient but with limited reserve capacity,” ayon sa advisory.
“To keep everyone informed and prepared, please be advised that if the grid status escalates to Red Alter, which means power demand is higher than the available supply, rotational brownouts may be implemented to help maintain overall grid stability,” dagdag pa nito.
Ayon naman sa National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), nasa Yellow Alert ang Visayas Grid mula 4 p.m. hanggang 9 p.m. dahil sa limitadong power reserves. Ang available capacity ay nasa 2,581 megawatts, habang ang peak demand ay 2,482 MW.
Kapag nag-Red Alert, may naka-schedule na rotational brownouts sa ilang bahagi ng Cebu City at Mandaue City sa iba’t ibang oras mula 4 p.m. hanggang 9 p.m., kabilang ang mga lugar tulad ng Mabolo, Kasambagan, Lahug, Banilad, at iba pa.
