MANILA, Philippines – Nakatakdang ipatawag ng Impeachment Court ang chief of staff ni Vice President Sara Duterte kabilang ang dating hepe ng cybercrime division ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at isang opisyal ng armed forces.
Sa pagtatapos ng ikatlong araw ng paglilitis, sinabi ni Atty. Regie Tongol na nakatakdang isalang sa witness stand sina Atty. Zulieka Lopez, chief of staff ni Duteerte simula pa noong June 22, 2022.
May ranggo si Atty. Lopez na undersecretary sa Office of the vice president, tubong Davao City at dating city administration ng naturang lungsod sa ilalim ng dating Mayor Sara Duterte at dating graft investigator ng Office of the Ombudsman sa Mindanao.
Noong nakaraang Nobyembre 2024, kinasuhan siya ng contempt ng House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability sa kasong “undue interference hinggil sa iniimbestigahang confidential funds ni Duterte.
Nakatakdang sumalang si Lopez bilang testigo ng prosecution sa susunod na linggo.
Isasalang din sa susunod na paglilitis si Atty Jeremy C. Lotoc, kasalukuyang NBI Regional Director for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) at dating dating NBI regional director for MIMAROPA region noong Aug 2025.
Isasalang din sa naturang panahon ang isang Capt. Belinda Bello, alinsunod sa manipestasyon ni House Prosecutor Lorenz Defensor upang tumestigo sa Article 4 ng Impeachment Complaint.
Nakasentro ang Article IV ng impeachment case sa hinihinalang grave threat at assassination plot ni VP Duterte laban kay President Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, at Speaker Martin Romualdez.
“Capt. Bello’s testimony is considered “material, relevant, and necessary” to establish allegations under that article,” ayon kay Tongol.
Kaugnay nito, hiniling naman ng House Panel of Prosecutor na isubpoena ang mga sumusunod:
1. Request for Issuance of Subpoena Duces Tecum re: tax documents of Respondent, Mans Carpio and twenty-two (22) businesses. The Presiding Officer ordered the submission of memorandum on Monday and scheduling of the oral arguments on Wednesday for 10 minutes
2. Renewed Request for Issuance of Subpoena Duces Tecum for bank records as addressed to Hon. Eli Remolona, Jr., as Chairman of the AMLC: The Presiding Officer ordered the submission of memorandum on Monday and scheduling of the oral arguments on Wednesday for 10 minutes.
3. Request for Issuance of Subpoena Ad testificandum to Atty. Zuleika Lopez: The Presiding Officer GRANTED the same and will be issued today.
