Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Decade pinalawig ni PBBM ‘gang 2030

MANILA, Philippines – NAGPALABAS ng proklamasyon si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na naglalayong palawigin ang Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Decade mula 2024 hanggang 2030, para mas paghusayin ang birth at death registration at legal identity systems sa bansa.

Ang ekstensyon ay ginawang pormal sa ilalim ng Proclamation No. 1339, muling pinagtibay ang commitment ng PIlipinas sa regional framework ng United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), at 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Ito’y matapos na mabuo ang kasunduan sa panahon ng Third Ministerial Conference on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Asia and the Pacific, kung saan ang mga nagpartisipang estado ay nagdesisyon na ipagpatuloy ang regional CRVS Decade hanggang 2030 para ihanay kasama ang Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“During the CRVS Decade, the Philippines achieved significant progress in improving birth and death registration, expanding access to legal identity for marginalized sectors, and strengthening inter-agency and stakeholder partnerships,” ang mababasa sa proklamasyon.

“Notwithstanding these gains, challenges remain, including gaps in the universal and timely registration of births and deaths, limited integration of health and civil registry systems, and the need for further digitalization,” dagdag nito.

Ang proklamasyon, nilagdaan ni Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto noong Hulyo 6, 2026, sa pahintulot ni Pangulong Marcos, itinalaga ang Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) bilang lead agency na mangangasiwa sa ‘coordinating, overseeing, at monitoring’ sa implementasyon ng mga programa at inisyatiba sa ilalim ng pinalawig na CRVS Decade.

Samantala, ang lahat ng ahensiya ng gobyerno at instrumentalities, kabilang ang government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), at maging ang local government units, non-government organizations, at pribadong sektor ay inaatasan na magbigay ng kinakailangang suporta at tulong sa PSA.
