MANILA, Philippines – Iniimbestigahan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang umano’y ghost flood control projects sa Taguig City na kilalang balwarte ni Senador Alan Peter Cayetano.
“We’re already investigating,” sinabi ni NBI Director Melvin Matibag.
Ito ay kasunod ng sinabi ni Senador Panfilo Lacson na siya ay umaasa sa mga informant at witness na magbigay ng ebidensya laban kay Cayetano “to put [him] in his proper place — the Payatas, QC jail.”
“In 2022, he had 11 projects there that were somehow related to the top 15 named contractors. We will investigate them…But since you asked, you might say it’s all about the timing again. Anyway, it’s already public because Sen. Lacson mentioned it. So, I think we should mention it,” dagdag pa nito.
Kamakailan ay binatikos ni Cayetano ang NBI sa pag-iimbestiga sa umano’y iregularidad sa pagpopondo sa sports complex sa New Clark City, Tarlac, na ginamit noong 2019 Southeast Asian Games, sa halip na ang anomalya sa flood control projects sa bansa.
Si Cayetano ang chairman ng Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee, ang private foundation na inatasan sa pag-oorganisa ng hosting ng bansa sa 2019 SEA Games.
