MANILA, Philippines — Sinabi ni House lead prosecutor at Batangas Rep. Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro na nakaramdam siya ng pagkabigo dahil hindi umano siya nabigyan ng sapat na pagkakataong ipaliwanag ang kanyang mga sagot sa pagdinig ng impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
“I feel deprived, deprived of the opportunity to explain,” saad ni Luistro.
Ayon kay Luistro, bahagi ng paglilitis ang pagtatanong ng mga senator-judges, ngunit mahirap sumagot ng “oo” o “hindi” lamang dahil mahalagang maipaliwanag ang konteksto ng sagot.
“Of course, ‘yung mga ganung interjections, that’s part of the trial. They are senator-judges and they have the prerogative to raise clarificatory questions anytime they want,” ani Luistro.
“It’s hard to be confronted with a question of ‘yes or no’ only because it’s important that you give context to your yes or to your no,” aniya.
Tinanong siya nina Senador Robin Padilla at Pia Cayetano tungkol sa affidavit ni dating Davao Death Squad member Arturo Lascañas, na binanggit ng NBI sa imbestigasyon sa umano’y banta ni Duterte laban kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Nilinaw ni Luistro na ang affidavit ay iniharap lamang upang ipakita ang naging daloy ng imbestigasyon ng NBI at hindi bilang patunay na totoo ang nilalaman nito.
Idinagdag niya na ilang beses ding ipinaalala ni Senate impeachment court presiding officer Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero na ang affidavit ay para lamang ipakita ang proseso ng imbestigasyon. RNT/MDS
