CEBU, Philippines – Inaresto ng mga awtoridad ang tatlong Vietnamese nationals dahil sa umano’y ilegal na pagpa-practice ng dentistriya sa Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City, Cebu noong Agosto 10.
Ayon kay CIDG Chief Maj. Gen. Robert Morico II, isinagawa ang operasyon matapos ang reklamo ng Philippine Dental Association (PDA), Mandaue Chapter tungkol sa umano’y ilegal na pagpa-practice ng dentistriya ng mga dayuhan.
Nahuli ang mga suspek habang nagsasagawa ng tooth extraction nang wala ang kinakailangang Certificate of Registration, Professional Identification Card, at Special Temporary Permit mula sa Professional Regulatory Board of Dentistry of the Philippines.
Mahaharap ang mga suspek sa kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 9484 o The Philippine Dental Act of 2007.
Ayon kay Morico, “Allowing an unlicensed individual—such as a foreign national to practice dentistry or perform dental procedures without a Certificate of Registration, license, or a Special Temporary Permit from a regulating body poses danger and health risks to the patients, and a total lack of legal accountability.”
Tiniyak ng CIDG na patuloy nitong lalabanan ang ilegal na pagpa-practice ng medisina at dentistriya upang maprotektahan ang kalusugan ng publiko. RNT/MDS
