“The Philippines has no desire to be a belligerent nation in the region. We have no interest in that,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos sa presidential luncheon na hinost ng Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines sa Diamond Hotel Philippines sa Lungsod ng Maynila.

“That is all that the Philippines is concerned with. That is all the consent that the Philippines will promote. That is all that the Philippines will endorse and support,” aniya pa rin.

“What the United States or any other country chooses to do is certainly an internal matter for them and how they choose to handle their own foreign policy,” ayon sa Pangulo.

“When it involves the Philippines, again, we go back to that policy, where we are not interested in being a belligerent force. We are simply interested in the defense of the republic, a continued exercise of our sovereign rights, and the recognition of our territorial independence,” aniya pa rin. (KRIS JOSE)
