MANILA, Philippines – Narekober ang isang revolver sa bag ng isang 14-anyos na estudyante sa Lut-od National High School sa Pinamungajan, Cebu noong Huwebes, Agosto 20.
Sa pahayag, sinabi ng Cebu Police Provincial Police na nadiskubre ang .357 Smith & Wesson Magnum revolver na walang bala bandang 3:50 ng hapon matapos magsagawa ng surprise inspection ang guro.
“Initial investigation disclosed that the firearm allegedly belonged to the minor’s grandfather and had been kept inside a cabinet at their residence in Purok Santol, Barangay Lut-od,” ayon sa pulisya.
“The minor reportedly took the firearm from the cabinet and brought it to school on August 20,” dagdag pa.
Ang bata ay kasalukuyang nasa pangangalaga ng lolo at lola nito dahil ang mga magulang ay nagtatrabaho sa malayo.
Itinurn-over na ang estudyante sa Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office para gawin ang nararapat na intervention sa menor de edad sa pakikipagtulungan sa opisina at magulang ng bata.
Ayon kay Cebu Police Provincial Office director Police Colonel Abubakar Udang Mangelen Jr., “This incident demonstrates the importance of vigilance and proactive safety measures inside our schools.”
“We commend the school personnel for immediately reporting the discovery and seeking police assistance. Their prompt action helped ensure that the situation was contained before it could potentially lead to harm,” dagdag pa.
