MANILA, Philippines – Tatapusin na ng House prosecution ang presentasyon nito sa Article II o unexplained wealth, at hindi na magpiprisinta ng ebidensiya sa bribery article, ayon kay House prosecutor Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores.
“I think we already filed our manifestation last Tuesday pa that we will be dropping bribery. So the team already came to a decision na we will end with Article 2, unexplained wealth” pahayag ni Flores.
Nilinaw nito na walang kinalaman sa lakas ng kaso ang desisyong huwag nang ituloy ang bribery.
“Ang amin dito is we’re conscious about the timetable that the prosecution set for us to prosecute the entire articles of impeachment.Kaso hindi na siya kasya o pasok sa timetable that we set to ourselves also. We think we have already presented enough on all the three articles and to drag it further pa na i-include na pa namin yung bribery, might be stretching the patience not only of the people, but also of the senator-judges,” pahayag ni Flores.
Ayon kay Flores, manifestation ang iinihain nila sa impeachment court, kaya hindi na ito kailangang aprubahan ng korte.
“We just informed the court. No need for them to approve. That’s why it was through a manifestation not a motion.” paliwanag ni Flores.
Dahil dito, ang Article II na ang huling articles na ipiprisinta ng prosekusyon.
Naipresenta na ng prosekusyon ang tatlo sa apat na articles of impeachment na orihinal na isinampa laban kay Duterte.
Una ang Article IV, tungkol sa grave threats laban kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at dating Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Sumunod ang Article I, tungkol sa maling paggamit ng confidential funds.
