MANILA, Philippines – BALIK -Department of Transportation (DOTr) si Vince Dizon mula sa pagiging Acting Secretary ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) habang si DOTr Acting Sec. Giovanni “Banoy” Lopez ang uupo bilang Acting Secretary ng DPWH.
Si Dizon bago naging DPWH Acting Secretary ay isa munang Kalihim ng DOTr.
Ang palitan ng posisyon na ito ay bunsod ng nilalayon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., na madaliin ang reporma at paghahatid ng mga pagbabago sa mga filipino na makikita sa kanilang buhay.
“We are shifting gears to accelerate reform. Secretary Dizon goes to DOTr to fix the daily commute. Secretary Lopez goes to DPWH to make sure the reforms there last. Lahat ng ito, para lalong bumilis at gumaan ang serbisyo ng gobyerno para sa ating mga kababayan,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos.
Sinabi ni Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Sec. Lino Cayetano na ang pagbabalik na ito ni Secretary Vince Dizon sa Department of Transportation kaakibat ang ‘full confidence’ ng Pangulo at simpleng kautusan: “make the daily commute a little easier, and at the LTO, shorten the lines and get rid of the fixers. He has also been tasked to push the completion of critical mass transport projects, so workers and students spend less time on the road and more time with their families.”
Sa Department of Public Works and Highways, sinira ni Dizon ang sistema na pinoprotektahan ang katiwalian at korapsyon sa loob ng ilang taon. Libo-libong proyekto ang bukas ngayon sa publiko, ang mga long-unfinished projects ay tinatapos na at ang bagong kultura ng transparency at accountability ay nagsimula nang mag-ugat.
Sa kabilang dako, sisiguraduhin naman ni Secretary Giovanni “Banoy” Lopez na ang mga pakinabang na ito gamit ang isang sistema na binuo ay magtatagal.
Isang abogado at certified public accountant, inatasan si Lopez na palakasin ang “safeguards and institutionalizethe reforms’. gawin ang mga ito na mga tuntunin, mga proseso at sistema na mananatiling makapaglilingkod sa mga filipino kahit pa matapos ang administrasyon na ito at sa darating na mga dekada.”
Inatasan din ani Cayertano ng Pangulo si Lopez na madaliin ang mga lansangan, tulay at iba pang government infrastructure projects na kailangan ng mga mamamayang filipino.
“The President’s direction is clear: Secretary Dizon will accelerate results at Transportation, and Secretary Lopez will strengthen and sustain reforms at Public Works. This is how the President leads. He puts the right people where they can deliver the most.
