Manila, Philippines- Isa ang pelikulang Abe Nida ng BG Productions International ang inaabangan ng mga movie buff sa sinehan. Ang nasabing pelikula ay inilibot na sa buong mundo at nagkakuhana rin ng maraming awards sa mga film festivals.
Ang Abe Nida ay pinangungunahan nina Allen Dizon at Katrina Halili, directed by the acclaimed Louie Ignacio.
Finally, mapapanood na sa sinehan ang Abe Nida via Cinemalaya on August 10, Saturday, at 5:00 PM in Cinema 2 of Ayala Malls Manila Bay. The film is open to the public, with tickets priced at ₱300 for adults and ₱200 for students.
The film tells the poignant story of Abe, a woodcarver and artist who loses everything when his wife leaves him for another man. Abe then falls in love with Cecile, a prostitute na inakala niyang asawa niya and calls by his wife’s name, Nida.
Abe Nida has garnered international acclaim, recently winning the Best International Film Feature award at the prestigious 10th Emirates Film Festival.
Allen’s portrayal of Abe earned him two Best Actor awards, including one from the International Imago Film Festival di Civitella del Tronto in Italy. Halili received her first Best Supporting Actress award for her powerful performance, surpassing competitors from Egypt, Italy, Syria, and Morocco.
Halili joins the esteemed group of actresses recognized for their performances in BG-produced films, alongside Ai Ai delas Alas (“Area”), Barbie Forteza (“Laut”), and Nathalie Hart (“Siphayo”), all of whom have won Best Actress awards.
Director Louie praises Dizon’s performance, “Siya talaga ang nasa isip ko bilang lead. Ang ‘AbeNida’ kasi ay istorya ng buhay ko. Si Allen na talaga ang nasa isip ko.”
The stellar cast also includes Ina Alegre, Gina Pareño, Joel Lamangan, Leandro Baldemor, Vince Rillon, Kate Brios, Mimi Juareza, and Nella Marie Dizon.
Abe Nida also marks Madam Baby F. Go’s 17th production, adding to her impressive portfolio of films such as Lauriana, Homeless, Child Haus, Iadya Mo Kami, Lihis, Bigkis, Sekyu, Tupang Ligaw, Laut, Siphayo, Area, Balatkayo, Almost a Love Story, School Service, and Latay.
Reflecting on the success of Abe Nida, Madam expressed her pride and joy.
