MANILA, Philippines – Nanindigan ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa pagpapatuloy ng kanilang patrols sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) kahit binatikos ito ng China bilang umano’y nakakaapekto sa kapayapaan at katatagan sa rehiyon.
Ayon kay Philippine Navy spokesperson Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad, ang mga exercise sa Bajo de Masinloc (BdM) ay scheduled, koordinado, aprubado, at naaayon sa EEZ ng Pilipinas.
“Our exercises… are scheduled, duly coordinated, and pre-approved and are w/in our EEZ. They will be conducted by our forces, in partnership w/ our treaty ally and w/ other like-minded nations,” ani Trinidad.
Giit niya na ang China ang naging sanhi ng “instability” sa WPS, at ang kanilang mga patrol at exercise sa BdM ay walang legal na basehan sa international law.
Kamakailan, nagsagawa rin ang Philippine Air Force (PAF) at Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) ng Bilateral Bomber Air Patrol at Live Drop Exercise sa WPS at Luzon Strait kasama ang US Marine Corps Forces, Pacific.
–Lunes: Live drop exercise sa Colonel Ernesto Rabina Air Base sa Tarlac gamit ang PAF FA-50PH fighters at US B-52 bombers.
–Miyerkules: Air defense scenario sa WPS para sa airspace coordination at joint operational response.
–Biyernes: Joint bomber air patrol sa WPS at Luzon Strait upang ipakita ang operational readiness at interoperability ng Philippine at US forces.
Ayon sa PAF, pinatibay ng mga aktibidad na ito ang bilateral interoperability, strategic cooperation, at kakayahan ng bansa na ipagtanggol ang soberanya at national airspace. RNT/MND
