MANILA, Philippines – Nagbitiw na sa pwesto bilang kalihim ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) si Alfredo Pascual, ayon sa anunsyo ng Malakanyang nitong Miyerkules, Hulyo 31.
Sa pahayag, sinabi ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) na personal na ibinigay ni Pascual ang resignation letter kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa kanilang pagpupulong sa Palasyo.
Tinanggap naman ni Marcos ang resignation ni Pascual na epektibo Agosto 2.
Ayon sa PCO, Marcos “acknowledge [Pascual’s] invaluable service in guiding the restoration and transformation of the Philippine economy.”
“His focus on MSMEs was absolutely correct, and we are beginning to see the fruits of that policy. We are sorry to lose him, but we respect his decision that this is the time for him to return to the private sector,” sinabi pa ni Marcos.
Sinabi ng PCO na ang paghahanap ng bagong DTI chief ay “commence immediately to ensure a seamless transition and continuity in the Department’s initiatives.”
