MANILA, Philippines – Namatay na si Antipolo City 2nd District. Rep. Romeo Acop nitong Sabado, Disyembre 20 ayon sa pulisya.
Sa report, sinabi na 10:12 ng gabi nang matagpuan si Acop sa sahig ng kanyang pinakabatang anak na si Dr. Karla Marie Acop, at security aide nito na si Pat Frank Louie Pastrana.
Agad isinugod sa ospital si Acop sa Assumption Hospital ngunit idineklarang patay 10:56 ng gabi.
Kinumpirma naman ni House Deputy Speaker Rep. Ronaldo Puno ang pagpanaw ni Acop.
“Sadly, he has really passed on. He had his successful kidney transplant last November 28. He was recovering well and he was up and about. We were excited for his imminent return to us. The he had a heart attack last night,” aniya.
“Our hearts are broken. He was a friend for more than 25 years and a devoted, courageous, HONEST public servant. The Congress and our Country are the lesser for his loss,” dagdag ni Puno. RNT/JGC
