MANILA, Philippines – MAKATUTULONG na makapagbigay ng power services ang Mariveles-Hermosa-San Jose 500 Kilovolt Transmission Line kahit pa sa Kalakhang Maynila.
“This development involves more than two hundred seventy-five circuit kilometers of overhead lines supported by nearly almost four hundred towers and two new substations; [and] a total line transmission capacity of eight thousand megawatts,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos sa isinagawang pagpapasinaya.
Aniya, ang bagong transmission line ay magsisilbi bilang ‘vital corridor’ para sa kasalukuyang 5,000 megawatts at karagdagang 2,500 megawatts sa ipinangakong power generation projects sa Bataan at sa Zambales.
“Once operational, it will certainly strengthen power transmission services not only in the region, but all the way [to] Metro Manila,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.
Winika pa nito na ang transmission project ay patunay sa ‘transformative power’ ng kolaborasyon sa pagitan ng public at private sectors na may layunin na makamit ang “stable, reliable, at resilient power supply” para sa bansa.
“It will also help in the administration’s thrust to transition to renewable energy to mitigate the impact of geopolitical uncertainties and of course, the effects of climate change,” aniya pa rin.
Samantala, inatasan naman ni Pangulong Marcos ang Department of Energy at National Grid Corporation of the Philippines na kompetuhin ang mahigit sa 70 transmission projects sa takdang oras gaya ng nakasaad sa Transmission Development Plan.
Kabilang aniya rito ang Batangas-Mindoro Interconnection Project at ang Northern Luzon 230-kiloVolt Loop. Kris Jose
