MANILA, Philippines – Pumanaw na sa edad na 86 si Antique Bishop Emeritus Raul Jose Quimpo Martinez matapos ma-stroke ayon sa Diocese of San Jose de Antique.
Sinabi ng Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows, kung saan nagsilbi si Martinez bilang resident bishop, na namatay ang clergyman alas-11:24 ng gabi noong Setyembre 2.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our dearest Bishop Raul has returned to the house of the Father,” ayon sa Christ the King Parish Greenmeadows sa Facebook post nitong Martes, Setyembre 3.
Sinabi ng Diocese of San Jose de Antique noong Agosto 22 na si Martinez ay naka-confine sa The Medical City sa Pasig City kasunod ng stroke isang linggo bago.
