MANILA, Philippines – Dumipensa ang Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) sa pagbabawal sa tagapagsalita ng political prisoner group na KAPATID na si Fides Lim na pumasok sa lahat ng prisons at penal farms ng BuCor dahil sa paulit-ulit nitong paglabag at hindi magandang pag-uugali.
Sa liham kay Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, sinabi ni BuCor Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr.na bawal na si Lim mula pa noong Abril 29 matapos ang masusing imbestigasyon.
Ayon sa BuCor, ilan beses nagpakita si Lim ng pagiging arogante, pagsuway at angas sa mga correction officers kabilang ang mga high-ranking officials sa pagpunta nito sa New Bilibid Prison mula Pebrero 2024 hanggang Oktubre 2024.
“There are procedures to follow when visiting a PDL, and we treat everyone the same. No special treatment; all are equal, We have to maintain order and adhere to security protocols within the correctional system to ensure a safe environment for both staff and PDLs,” ani Catapang.
Una nang hiniling ni Lim sa Department of Justice na imbestigahan kung bakit siya tinanggihan na makapasok sa loob ng Correctional Institution for Women para magbigay ng pagkain. TERESA TAVARES
