THE Caloocan City government has rolled out a free Civil Service Examination (CSE) review program aimed at empowering more residents—particularly the youth—to pass the national eligibility test and pursue careers in public service.
Mayor Along Malapitan stressed that the initiative was designed primarily not merely to help participants ace the examination but also to prepare the ‘Batang Kankaloo’ for the responsibilities and demands of government work.
“The program’s objective is twofold: to prepare participants for the examination and to prepare them for a life of public service.”
Moreover, he said the initiative also seeks to inspire more young Caloocan residents to become part of the next wave of public servants, helping ensure the continued and improved delivery of government services in the city.
City officials emphasized that the free review program is part of the local government’s broader commitment to expanding educational and employment opportunities while building a stronger talent pool of qualified individuals who may one day choose to serve in the public sector.
Honoring fire volunteers
It’s a great honor to greet the volunteers from the Caloocan City Filipino-Chinese Fire Prevention Association on its 50th Anniversary, according to the youthful mayor.
He said for five decades, the group has been a steady partner of the local government—not only in times of crisis, but in the enduring spirit of ‘bayanihan’ and in the noble work of saving lives.
“For every life you have helped, every home you have protected, and every corner of our city that continues to benefit from your selfless service—we extend our deepest gratitude,” he said.
Visiting and comforting flood evacuees
Amid heavy rain and flooding, the Caloocan chief executive personally visited evacuees in various affected villages particularly in Barangays 180, 185, and 176-C to ensure that their needs were provided without delay.
“We have provided decent sleeping quarters, hot meals, appropriate medical assistance, and counseling support for our fellow residents currently staying in evacuation centers.”
“Our monitoring efforts remain ongoing, and we stay fully alert to safeguard the well-being of every Batang Kankaloo,” he told Good Riddance.
