MANILA, Philippines – Naghain ng komento ang defense panel ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa manifestation ng House prosecution team, kabilang ang hiling na buksan ang kahon ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) na naglalaman ng tax records nito.
Ito ang kinumpirma ni Atty. Michael Poa, defense lawyer ni Duterte matapos bigyan ni Senate Secretary at Impeachment Clerk of Court Renato Bantug ang panel ng hanggang Biyernes para magsumite ng komento electronically.
“The Defense confirms that we have filed our Comment to the Prosecution’s Manifestation/Motion before the Impeachment Court,” saad sa pahayag ni Poa.
“In keeping with the Senate Rules on Impeachment, we will refrain from discussing the merits of our filing in public,” dagdag ni Poa.
Nagsagawa ng manipestasyon ang prosecution team para buksan ang kahon at markahan ang mga laman nito, sa pretrial conference ng impeachment case ni Duterte.
Gumawa pa ng tatlong request ang team sa naturang manifestation, kabilang ang paggamit ng English at Filipino bilang official languages sa paglilitis; “reciprocal three-day disclosure rule” para sa surprise witnesses; at para masuri publiko at pribado ang naturang witness. RNT/JGC
