MANILA, Philippines – Inaprubahan ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Board of Directors en banc ang pagsasama ng dental services sa kanilang healthcare benefit packages.
Kabilang sa mga serbisyong ipinasok sa landmark package ay ang mouth examination/oral screening, dental prophylaxis o cleaning, at fluoride varnish application.
Kasama rin dito ang fissure sealants, Class V procedures, emergency tooth extractions, at dental consultations.
“Universal health care must have oral health care, and the best way to make it sustainable and felt by all Filipinos is through primary care,” sinabi ni Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa.
“The Board agreed on a preventive oral health benefit to be delivered by dentists working in PhilHealth Konsulta package providers, and also by stand-alone dentists based on referrals from the Konsulta providers,” dagdag pa ni Herbosa.
Sa ilalim ng health package, inaprubahan ng PhilHealth Board ang maximum payment ng P1,000 sa bawat pasyente kada taon para sa preventive oral health services, na babayaran ayon sa pagkakasunod-sunod: P300 para sa first visit, sakop ang mouth examination/oral screening, oral prophylaxis (cleaning), at fluoride varnish application; panibagong P300 para sa second visit sa pagitan ng apat na buwan mula sa unang pagbisita para sa kaparehong serbisyo, at P200 per tooth (maximum of two teeth per year) para sa pit at fissure sealant o Class V procedure.
Ipagbabawal para sa mga public dentist ang co-payments habang ang private dentists ay papayagan ng maximum co-payment charges per visit na P1,500 para sa mouth examination at oral prophylaxis; P600 sa pit at fissure sealant o Class V procedure; at P600 para sa emergency tooth extraction. RNT/JGC
