MANILA, Philippines – Nakikipag-ugnayan na ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa Philippine National Police (PNP) sa pagsasampa ng kaso laban sa isang lalaki na naaresto matapos na magpanggap na survivor ng gumuhong gusali sa Angeles City, Pampanga.
“So right now, we’re helping the Philippine National Police in the case buildup because we will not let this incident pass, so it will not be copied by other groups or individuals who may lie and exploit tragedies such as the building collapse in Angeles City,” sinabi ni DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao.
Ang lalaki ay naaresto noong Mayo 29 matapos na mag-imbento ng kwento at sinabing siya ay malapit sa collapse site.
Napag-alaman na nakatanggap ng ayuda ang naturang lalaki mula sa DSWD dahil sa pagpapanggap na survivor.
Kalaunan ay naaresto ito matapos na magtangka ulit na humingi ng tulong sa pamahalaan.
“There is a proper way to ask for assistance from the government. There are processes and documents that need to be submitted if an individual is in need,” sinabi ni Dumlao.
Palalakasin naman ng ahensya ang verification process upang masigurong ang mga tulong ay makararating lamang sa mga lehitimong benepisyaryo.
“We will work closely with local government units, particularly city social welfare officers, to ensure that those receiving assistance are truly among those affected—the workers and families impacted by the incident—to make sure aid reaches those in need,” sinabi ni Dumlao. RNT/JGC
