MANILA, Philippines – Handa umanong sagutin ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang mga tanong ng House of Representatives Quad Committee kaugnay sa kontrobersyal na war on drugs ng kanyang administrasyon.
Ang pahayag na ito ni Duterte ay kasabay ng kanyang paghahain ng kandidatura bilang mayor ng Davao City.
“If they will invite me. I just hope they will ask educated questions,” ani Duterte.
Nauna nang inimbitahan ang dating Pangulo ng House QuadComm matapos siyang maiugnay sa pagpatay sa Chinese drug lords noong 2016.
Sa kabila nito, sinabi ng komite na igagalang nila ang desisyon ni Duterte kung hindi ito dadalo sa pagdinig.
Ayon naman kay Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante, chairman ng House Committee on Human Rights at isa sa chairpersons ng QuadComm, makakaasa si Duterte na lahat ng tanong “shall be educated as he hopes.”
“I remember we invited him efore to the Committee on Human Rights but he failed to attend. His positive intention to come if invited is a welcome development. I believe all of us in the QuadComm share the same desire to invite him so he can air his side on the EJK issue,” ani Abante.
“Being a former president, he will be accorded our full respect and cordiality, and he can rest assured that all our questions shall be educated as he hopes,” dagdag pa niya. RNT/JGC
