THE lights of Malabon City Hall shone a little brighter as Mayor Jeannie Sandoval accepted the prestigious Eternal Flame of Governance Trophy, a symbol of exemplary leadership awarded by the RP Mission and Development Foundation Inc..
The honor comes on the heels of her remarkable rank as the No. 1 mayor in the Philippines under RPMD’s “Boses ng Bayan” Index of Governance—a testament to a leadership style rooted in transparency, innovation, and genuine care for the people.
The award was formally presented by RPMD executives DJ Villanueva, Ivan Vargas, and Phyns Patalinghug in a ceremony following the mayor’s recent 4th State of the City Address.
There, before an audience of Malabueños, she laid out the city’s strides in economic reform, social services, and infrastructure—proof that governance, when done right, bears tangible fruit.
According to the non-commissioned survey conducted in April 2026, Sandoval posted an 88.02% IOG, an 87.85% trust rating, and an 88.20% performance rating—figures that placed her firmly at the top among Metro Manila’s city mayors.
The survey randomly interviewed 5,000 registered voters across all socioeconomic classes in each region, with results weighted proportionally by voter population per city and barangay to ensure accurate reflection of public sentiment.
“This award belongs to every Malabueño and every dedicated city employee who works tirelessly to deliver quality and reliable service.”
“It is proof that when the government and citizens stand together, we achieve meaningful change. We will continue to push forward—toward a stronger, more orderly, and more progressive Malabon for all,” the city’s first female mayor said.
