MANILA, Philippines – Mahigit 5,000 barangay sa buong bansa ang binalaan sa rain-induced landslide at mga pagbaha sa mga pag-ulan na dala ng Habagat at Tropical Storm Pilandok, ayon sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB).
Ayon sa MGB, nasa 5,039 barangay ang nanganganib sa mga landslide at pagbaha mula Setyembre 2 hanggang 5 batay sa rainfall forecast ng PAGASA.
Hanggang alas-8 ng umaga ng Miyerkules, Setyembre 2, karamihan sa 5,039 landslide- at flood-prone barangays ay nasa Luzon:
Ilocos Region — 1,888
Central Luzon — 868
Calabarzon — 808
Cordillera Administrative Region — 480
Western Visayas — 422
National Capital Region — 384
Mimaropa — 172
Cagayan Valley — 17
“Based on the latest DOST-PAGASA 72-hour rainfall forecast, residents in listed areas and those nearby or downstream are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions,” sinabi ng MGB.
Ang geohazard susceptibility maps ay ginagawa batay sa local geology, landforms at terrain, at human activities na maaaring magpataas sa banta ng kalamidad. RNT/JGC
