MANILA, Philippines – Nanawagan ang Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International Philippines sa agarang pag-aresto at pagsuko ni dating Philippine National Police chief at Senador Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa sa International Criminal Court (ICC), kasunod ng kumpirmasyon na nag-isyu ang tribunal ng warrant of arrest para sa senador.
Nitong Lunes, Mayo 11, inunseal ng Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) ang arrest warrant na inisyu noong Nobyembre 6, 2025 laban kay Dela Rosa.
“The ICC arrest warrant against Senator Ronald Dela Rosa is another blow to the wall of impunity protecting those who allegedly committed atrocities during the Philippines’ murderous “drug war,” sinabi ni Maria Elena Vignoli, senior international justice counsel sa Human Rights Watch.
“Philippine authorities should promptly arrest dela Rosa and surrender him to the ICC in The Hague, where he can be held to account,” dagdag ni Vignoli.
Sinabi ng Amnesty PH na ngayong wanted na sa ICC, dapat na sumuko na si Dela Rosa sa kustodiya ng international court.
“Following the ICC’s confirmation it has issued an arrest warrant for former PNP chief Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa, the Philippine government should arrest him immediately,” pahayag ni Ritz Lee Santos, III, Section Director ng Amnesty PH.
Idinagdag ni Santos na katulad kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, dapat ding isuko si Dela Rosa sa The Hague para harapin ang mga reklamo laban sa kanya.
“Dela Rosa’s current position as Senator should not shield him from facing charges at the ICC. It is imperative that regardless of politics, the process of justice prevails,” ani Santos.
Nitong Lunes, inilagay ang Senado sa lockdown matapos na subukang arestuhin ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) si Dela Rosa.
Nagmosyon naman si Senador Rodante Marcoleta na ilagay si Dela Rosa sa Senate protective custody habang inaalam nito ang lahat ng legal na paraan kaugnay sa kaso sa ICC. RNT/JGC
