MANILA, Philippines – Pina-ikli ng Senado ang impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte at sesyon ng Mataas na Kapulungan sanhi ng patuloiy na hagupit ng habagat na nananalasa ngayon sa Kamaynilaan nitong Lunes.
Alinsunod din ang kautusan ni Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian sa ipinalabas na direktiba ng Palasyo na sinususpinde ang pasok sa lahat ng ahensiya ng pamahalaan sa Metro Manila at karatig lugar sanhi ng ulang dala ng habagat.
“For the information of the counsels for the parties, we shall be only holding trial given the inclement weather until two this afternoon and we shall convene session according to the Senate president at 2:30 pm,” ayon kay presiding officer Sen. Francis Escudero pagkatapos ng lunch break.
Ginaganap ang impeachment trial mula Lunes hanggang Miyerkoles na dapat magtatapos tuwing ikalawa ng hapon o bago magsimula ang regular session ng Senado dakong alas tres ng hapon.
Sa kabila nang pagbugso-bugso ng ulan, itinuloy ng impeachment court ang testimonya ng prosecution team na naglahad ng dalawang testigo, sina Marivic Pareja ng House of Representatives’ Legislative Information Burean at Gina Acosta, dating special disbursing officer ng Office of the Vice President.
Ideneklara ng prosecution na pawang hostile witness si Acosta upang humarap sa maling paggamit ng confidential funds. Ernie Reyes
