MANILA, Philippines – Nangako ang House of Representatives na susunod sa utos ng Supreme Court (SC) na magsumite ng karagdagang impormasyon tungkol sa impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte, na binabatikos sa high tribunal.
Sa isang pahayag nitong Biyernes, kinumpirma ng tagapagsalita ng Kamara na si Princess Abante na nakatanggap ang Kamara ng kopya ng resolusyon ng SC, na pinagsasama-sama ang mga petisyon na inihain ni Duterte at ng iba pang mga abogado na naglalayong ibasura ang impeachment trial laban sa kanya.
“We confirm that the House has officially received a copy of the Supreme Court’s Resolution dated July 8, 2025, in G.R. No. 278353 and 278359, or the twin petitions filed by Vice-President Sara Zimmerman Duterte and Atty. Isrelito P. Torreon, et al., to challenge the impeachment trial pending before the Senate sitting as an Impeachment Court,” ayon kay Abante.
“The House of Representatives and Secretary-General Reginald S. Velasco, as respondents in the said petitions, have been required to submit the additional information enumerated in the Resolution, and will comply accordingly,” dagdag niya.
Ang SC ay nagbigay ng 10 araw sa kalendaryo mula sa pagtanggap ng resolusyon para sa Kamara na maghain ng tugon nito.
Sinabi ni Abante na ang usapin ay nai-refer na sa Office of the Solicitor General.
“We have already referred the Resolution to the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), as our counsel, and shall coordinate closely with the OSG to ensure the submission of the required information within the non-extendible period of ten (10) days provided by the Supreme Court,” saad ni Abante.
