MANILA, Philippines – IPINAG-UTOS ng Malakanyang ang suspensyon sa lahat ng preperasyon para sa pang-apat na State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sa susunod na linggo habang ang bansa ay nakikipagpambuno sa matinding pagbaha dulot ng ‘weather disturbances.’
“Let me be clear: All SONA-related preparations are hereby ordered immediately suspended,” ayon kay Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin sa isang kalatas.
Sinabi ni Bersamin na dismayado ang Pangulo dahil napaulat na may mga government personnel ang “putting up SONA-related materials in public areas while many communities are battling heavy flooding.”
“The Department of Public Works and Highways, along with all concerned agencies, must put full attention and exclusive focus on flood response and relief operations,” ani Bersamin.
Binigyang diin ni Pangulong Marcos na dapat na unahin ng gobyerno ang pagtugon sa krisis.
“The President’s directive is to focus all efforts on ensuring the safety and welfare of the Filipino people, especially during times of crisis. All government agencies are expected to act accordingly,” aniya pa rin. Kris Jose
