MANILA, Philippines – INILAGAY ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), araw ng Biyernes, Agosto 22 ang operations center nito sa ilalim ng blue alert para i-monitor ang posibleng epekto ng Tropical Depression Isang.
“The raising of the alert status of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center (NDRRMOC) became effective noon,” ang sinabi ng disaster response body sa Facebook post nito.
Ito ay “to closely monitor, consolidate, and to ensure prompt coordination with concerned agencies and offices,” dagdag pa nito.
Ang Blue alert ay itinaas “primarily in preparation for a slow onset disaster or in anticipation of situation escalation, requiring selected duty personnel,” ang sinabi ng NDRRMC.
Ang mga pangunahin o nangungunang mga tauhan ay mula sa Office of Civil Defense (OCD), sinamahan ng mga detailed duty officers (DDOs) na may atas na magbigay ng trabaho sa NDRRMOC.
Ang DDOs ay kadalasang uniformed personnel ng Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, at Philippine National Police.
Ang grupo ay dinagdagan ng technical staff ng Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Service (DOST-PAGASA), Department of the Interior and Local Government, at Department of Health, bukod sa iba pa.
Sa 11 a.m. update nito, sinabi ng PAGASA na ang ropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 ay itinaas sa 17 lugar dahil kay Isang, na nag-landfall sa Casiguran, Aurora.
SInabi pa ng PAGASA na si Isang ay may taglay na malakas na hangin na 55 kph malapit sa sentro at pabugso-bugso ng hanggang 90 kph. Kris Jose
